Corps Size Symbol

The Corps is the deployable level of command required to synchronize and sustain combat operations. It also provides a framework for multi-national operations. The Corps provides command, control and logistical support of two to five combat divisions.

The Corps is commanded by a Lieutenant General (O-9), and is assisted by a Command Sergeant Major and an extensive Corps staff. There are currently four (4) Corps in the Active Army - 3 with Headquarters in the continental United States and one (1) in Europe (Germany).
